London 10K Run, Sunday 2 July

This year we entered six runners for the London 10K Run, raising funds to help pay for our Home Visiting and Volunteer Service. This is a really important lifeline for many blind and partially sighted people who live alone, as we provide a volunteer to help with important tasks like correspondence, reading or shopping.

Paul our visiting optometrist.

Craig Randall, partner of Samantha our volunteer co-ordinator

Derrick, volunteer who works with us as minibus driver, handyman, gardener, fundraiser (stopping here before we run out of paper)

Elizabeth, who is no longer our rehab officer, but can't stay away and her other half Richard.

MertonVision staff were at the Run encouraging them - all we need now is sponsorship to make their hard work worthwhile and help us keep the Home visiting Service going. If you can help, phone the office, you don't even need to fill in a sponsor form! 020 8540 5446 or email info@mertonvision.org.uk

Donations

As a charity we are dependant on the good will of our donors to provide the best possible services for over 1,000 adults and children with a visual impairment in Merton.

We are particularly grateful to the London Borough of Merton Social Services for their financial and professional support in helping us to maintain our core activities. However it takes considerable resources to provide the level of support needed for people with a visual impairment who have additional needs. Elderly people are more likely to lose their sight than those under 60yrs, and with increasing frailty are often unable to remain independent in their own home without our support.

We do not have a fundraiser or fundraising dept, (or their costs) so every penny given to MertonVision is used to provide services directly to local blind and partially sighted adults and children.

If you would like to donate gift aid which will enable us to claim tax you have already paid on the donation, please use the Adobe PDF form. You can download the Adobe Acrobat Reader here.

If you would like to sponsor us or a particular project, or to become a regular supporter and receive updates and information on how your donation makes a difference, please contact Fran Hibbert.
